1st Tenyimi Youth Cultural Fest at Kisama on March 25

The Tenyimi Union Nagaland (TUN) is all set to hold the 1st Tenyimi Youth Cultural Festival 2026 on March 25 at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama under the theme “Unity through cultural heritage.”

Addressing a press conference here today at Angami Youth Organization (AYO) office, TUN president Kekhwengulo Lea informed that Nagaland’s Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang will be the special guests for the festival.

The patrons for the festival includes; Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, Advisor NRE & NSDMA, MLA Jwenga Seb, Kuko Mero, secretary  home department and mission director, NBDA, Vesato Dozo, director SIRD,  Neingutuo Rio, proprietor M/S NR Enterprises, Thejanguzo Peseyie, businessman, Kuchi R. Zeliang, proprietor M/S Hi.Tech Construction and North East Zone Cultural Centre, Dimapur.

The festival will witness cultural presentations from Angami Youth Organization (AYO cultural troupe, Phusachodu cultural troupe, Tesophenyu cultural Society Kohima, Pochury Youth Organization (PYO) cultural troupe and Zeliang cultural troupe.

Talent extravaganza will feature VK Khusoh, Wetshoteu Letro, Avinuo Metha, Neilaii Thaprii & Methasieo Zhale, Elizabeth Khing, Lolia Ngouri & Thsiinguji Nyusou, Yikafi Pfinyu, The Charity and Nangkamlak Pame.

Lea said that TUN was formally formed in 2023 to foster better understanding among the brothers, to have a healthy relationship, a mature respect to every community and to work for the progress and better future of the Naga society.

He said that the sole purpose of Tenyimi youth festival is to strengthen unity, preserve rich cultural heritage and to promote brotherhood among the Tenyimi communities in particular, and the Nagas in general.

The festival is also aim is to give a platform to the youths to showcase their traditional festivities and exhibit their talents. “We are expecting 2,500 to 3,000 delegates from every Tenyimi village in the state of Nagaland,” he said.

Southern Tenyimi will also participate in this festival. The event will witness cultural presentations from each community, i.e Angami, Chakhesang, Pochury, Rengma and Zeliang. All Tenyimi legislators will also join this festival. TUN wanted all the delegates to come in their respective traditional attires. Other Naga tribes have also been invited to join the festival. The programme will start from 10:00 AM onwards.
