Around 25 returnees were reportedly being shifted to Ganeshnagar Quarantine Centre (QC) on June 10.

Reports received around 9:30pm on Wednesday said that the returnees were being taken to Ganeshnagar QC from one of the quarantine centres in Dimapur.

This is the first re-deployment following  the government’s announcement on June 6 that intentional violators of the norms at quarantine centres will be sent to the ‘Police Quarantine Centre’ at Ganeshnagar, Dimapur.

Official sources confirmed the report and said that though an official letter was yet to be received, they were expecting around 25 returnees.

While the official did not disclose the reason for the sudden re-deployment, some reported that the returnees were being moved to Ganeshnagar QC for being “too notorious.”

With recent reports of unruly behavior of the returnees in various quarantine centres in Nagaland, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton had informed that a special regimented facility for people flouting quarantine norms will be set up in Ganeshnagar QC.
