31,489 candidates apply for Nagaland Police recruitment

Dimapur, November 27 (MExN): A total of 31,489 candidates have submitted applications for the ongoing Nagaland Police recruitment drive, according to official data from the Police Headquarters (PHQ).

The final tally, as of November 26, shows that 33,882 candidates registered for the recruitment of 1,176 Constable (General Duty) posts, while 31,489 candidates completed the process by paying the examination fee.

This translates to roughly 27 applicants per post, although there is district-wise allocation of vacancies.

As notified earlier, no further applications will be accepted, the Nagaland Police stated in a recruitment update on November 27.

Meanwhile, in a contradictory update, the portal stated that the admit card generation date will be ‘announced soon,’ while another message indicated that it will be available for download from December 10 onwards.

The examinations dates are also yet to be announced.

The recruitment process was advertised on September 30 by the Office of the Director General of Police and conducted exclusively through the official portal https://nagalandpolicerecruitment.in.

The selection process will include open rallies at district headquarters, conducted by the Departmental Recruitment Board and District Screening Committees. Candidates declared medically fit and who clear the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will then appear for a written examination.

Final merit will be determined based on PET and written test scores, with shortlisted candidates called for interviews in a 1:3 ratio.

Eligible candidates are between 18 and 38 years of age, with educational qualifications ranging from Class 6 for Backward Tribes to Class 8 for other Indigenous Naga Tribes. The application deadline was initially set for November 7, later extended to November 22, and subsequently to November 26.
