3rd Mission Naga 2011 gets underway at CTC

DIMAPUR, JULY 30 (MExN): The 3rd Mission Naga (MN) Youth Conference began on July 29 at Clark Theological College. It is jointly organized by Withee Mission, Korea, and Nagaland Missions Movement (NMM), the missions wing of Nagaland Baptist Churches Council (NBCC). It will go on till August 2 with the theme “Here I am, Tell Me”. The Conference is attended by over 400 participants, which includes representatives from different Church Associations, churches and CTC students. More than thirty five South Korean delegates including several Withee Mission staff from Dimapur are also attending the Conference.
In the opening function, the welcome address was delivered by Rev. Dr Takatemjen, the Principal of CTC and Rev. Ponen Longchar, Pastor of  Mokokchung Town Baptist Church (MTBA) and chairperson, COLA. The Executive Director of Withee Mission International, Rev. Barnabas C. S. Moon and his team members were felicitated during the opening function. The resource persons for the conference are Rev. Barnabas Moon, Dr. Tira, Rev. Wati Longkumer, Rev. Lano Longchar, Dr. Casino, Pastor Brian, Ms. Rebecca and Dr. Cecilia. The Praise and Worship sessions are led by Teams from  CTC, Dimapur and MTBA.
The speaker of the opening session, Rev. Moon, highlighted the dual objectives of Mission Naga: to encourage the young people to go for missions and, to introduce effective ways of doing missions.  Based on Isaiah 6, he exhorted the congregation to be silent in order to listen to God’s voice challenging them to ‘Go’. This, he said, implies being ready for being sent out. The session closed with ‘Concert of Prayer’ led by CTC Praise and Worship team.
The second day of the Mission Naga 2011 started with quite-time in small groups followed by Expository Bible study led by Dr. Brian Robertson from Canada. This was followed by Multiplex covering the following topics – Migrant Mission in Nagaland, Music for Youth with a Mission, Mobilizing young people to Mission, Doing Mission in the context of North-East churches, What is Mission? – How, where and Who? and Business as Mission.
Apart from the Mission Naga Youth Conference, Free Medical Camps are being conducted in several villages around  Mokokchung town. The first camp was conducted at Longkhum village on 30th July. There will be two more such camps at Yimyu and Chuchuyimpang on 1st and 2nd August. The medical team consisting of Dr. Chun Min lee, Dr. Jun Yeol Oh, Major Mughavi, Oh Heyeon and several other volunteers are helping in the medical camps.  
The other highlights of the conference include sports, essay contest, special lectures and seminars.
