3rd phase of NISHTHA training commences
Teacher trainees and resource persons at the 3rd phase of NISHTHA training which began on March 10 at Dr Neilhouzhüi Kire GHSS, Seikhazou, Kohima.
Kohima, March 10 (MExN): The third phase of National Initiative for School Heads and Teachers' Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA) began on March 10 at Dr Neilhouzhü Kire Government Higher Secondary School Seikhazou, Kohima.
Thongsenlo, Assistant District Coordinator Samagra Shiksha Kohima welcomed the teacher trainees, and resource persons and briefed on compulsory pre-test and post-test, group division, maintenance of cleanliness and personal hygiene in view of the threat posed by Coronavirus(COVID-19). Delivering the keynote address Kenilo Semp, Senior DIET lecturer reiterated that the aim of NISHTHA is to improve learning outcomes at elementary stage through integrated teacher training programme.
NISHTHA being a capacity building programme aims to enhance capacities among all the teachers and head of schools, motivating and equipping teachers to develop critical thinking in students. He also mentioned that the five days training will make use of twelve (12) modules to focus on pedagogy of subjects such as Languages, Mathematics, Science and Social Science apart from Leadership, Social-Personal Qualities and POCSO Act, Health and Well-being. 462 teachers have been shortlisted for the third phase of training.
