Chumoukedima, July 30 (MExN): The Li-Ning 46th Inter District & State Badminton Championship, hosted by Nagaland Police and sponsored by Li-Ning, kicked off on July 30 at the NAPTC in Chumoukedima. The event, featuring over 186 players from 14 districts, including a team from Nagaland Police, will continue until August 2. The participating districts include Chumoukedima with 13 players, Dimapur with 15, Kiphire with 4, Kohima with 22, Longleng with 11, Mokokchung with 22, Mon with 11, Nagaland Police with 7, Niuland with 10, Peren with 18, Phek with 16, Shamator with 9, Tseiminyu with 16, Wokha with 3, and Zunheboto with 9. In total, there are 125 male and 61 female players competing in the championship. The tournament includes categories for both senior and junior players, featuring men’s and women’s singles, doubles, mixed doubles, and junior boys’ and girls’ U-19 singles and doubles. The inaugural ceremony began with an invocation by the Pastor of Nagaland Police in Chumoukedima. The event was attended by the participating teams, the Nagaland Police team, and officials from the Nagaland Badminton Association.
