5049 active COVID-19 cases in Nagaland

The number of COVID-19 cases in Nagaland continued to rise with 192 new cases detected on May 30.

As per State Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom’s update, out of the new cases reported on Sunday, Dimapur had 80 cases, Kohima and Mokokchung had 33 each, Zunheboto 12, Mon 11, Phek 7, Wokha 6, Kiphire, Peren and Tuensang had 3 each while Longleng had 1 new case.

Meanwhile, 77 patients recovered in Dimapur, 17 in Phek, 10 in Kohima, 3 in Kiphire and one each in Mokokchung and Mon, indicating a total of 109 recoveries on Sunday. With the latest figures, the tally of COVID-19 cases in Nagaland as on May 30 was 21,563 while total recovery was at 15,523. The total number of active cases in the State till Sunday was 5,049.

The State also registered 13 deaths in the past 24 hours with Dimapur registering 8 new deaths and Kiphire, Kohima, Mokokchung, Mon and Phek reporting one new death each.  The overall death toll in the State is 351. In the ‘not COVID related’ category, there are 12 deaths reported till date.
