Dimapur, March 24 (MExN): The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (NIDC), conducted a four-day technology clinic on ‘Waste-to-Resource Technologies’ under the Rising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme with technical support from the Nagaland Tool & Training Centre (NTTC), Dimapur.
According to a press release issued by Er Keneirienuo T Zatsu, Deputy Director, Directorate of Industries & Commerce, the clinic was held from March 19 to 24 at NTTC, Dimapur, and brought together 53 entrepreneurs from across Nagaland. The programme was conducted in two batches, with each batch undergoing two-day training.
The clinic was coordinated by Er Awalo Keppen, with trainers Kuzhosheto Rhakho, Repachiba, and Richo Nangthe Kro overseeing the sessions.
Participants were given hands-on exposure to a range of machinery and technologies, including plastic segregation and crushing, plastic-aggregate composite paver block production, sawdust briquette for biomass energy, and stone dust-cement block manufacturing. The release stated that the clinic highlighted practical approaches to waste-to-resource conversion and focused on eco-friendly industrial practices aimed at strengthening MSMEs and promoting sustainable development.

The RAMP Scheme, a World Bank-supported initiative of the Government of India, aims to improve market access, enhance credit availability, and build the capacity of MSMEs. The release noted that in Nagaland, where MSMEs are gradually modernising, access to advanced machinery and technology remains important for maintaining competitiveness.
It added that the technology clinics under RAMP bring together experts and technocrats to equip entrepreneurs with practical knowledge for enterprise upgradation.
The initiative also supports post-COVID-19 recovery efforts by enabling entrepreneurs and MSMEs in Nagaland to adopt emerging technologies and modernise their businesses in a changing economic environment.
