63 yr-old retired veterinary officer assaulted in Kohima

A 63-year old-retired veterinary officer was allegedly assaulted by unknown persons at his residence in Kohima last week, as per a delayed report received here.

Police here informed The Morung Express that the retired officer had filed an FIR against the assailants on September 20 at South Police Station, Kohima, for breaking into his house and causing 'grievous injury.'

As per the First Information Report (FIR), the incident occurred at around 2:30 am on September 16, when some unknown persons entered the resident of the senior citizen and physically assaulted him. The 3 suspected assailants rendered him unconscious.

The retired officer was taken to a private hospital for treatment later in the morning.

Accordingly, a case has been registered under IPC Section 459 of the Indian Penal Code, pertaining to ‘Grievous hurt caused whilst committing lurking house trespass or house-breaking’ and Section 448 pertaining to house-trespass or house-breaking.
The person has named his son as a suspect in the case. 

According to police, the main accused has been arrested but released on bail and further interrogation and investigation into the case will be done for recording statements of both the parties by the investigation officer.
