DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 15 (MExN): 70 sand stockists under Padum Pukhuri village, Darogapathar village and from 3rd Mile to 6th Mile, Dimapur have resolved to do business at Rs 32 per cft and not Rs 42.
A joint statement from the stockists further resolved to do business under the patronage of their respective village councils and not under any Stand Stockist Union in Dimapur. It meanwhile acknowledged the Assam Sand Suppliers and Truck Owners’ Association and “15 genuine Government Sand Mahaldars of Assam for fixing the sand rate at Rs 32 per cfty at the source.” “This fixation of rate at Rs 32 per cft at this hour initiated by the ASSTOAD is very commendable and a great relief to the sand stockist when this pandemic has badly affected the economy,” it said.
It was further informed that sand traders will be meeting the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur on October 16 to discuss on the retail pricing of sand.
