Phek, April 28 (MExN): The 72nd Youth Day of Pfutseromi Youth Organization (PYO) cum Tsükhenyie concluded on April 27 with Tsiikhenyie wrestling day at Pfutseromi village under Phek district.
David Mero, Kilo Kilonser, NSCN GPRN graced the occasion as the guest speaker and Mhathung Khuvung, Branch Manager NStCB Ltd, Pfutsero as the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, David Mero expounded on the importance of sports and healthy lifestyle which would enhance a sportsmanship to conquer greater heights in different level of the society.
He also highlighted on employment opportunities through sports.
He encouraged all the wrestlers that “we should celebrate in failures and learn to achieve greater aspects and never give up, as all will not win but some has to fail.”
Mhathung Khuvung remarked that Pfutsero is one of the fastest developing towns in Nagaland. Pfutseromi is in the vicinity of the town it has tremendous advantages to develop comparing to other villages, he said.
He told the villagers not to forget our culture and tradition and further encouraged them to preserve and popularize the rich culture which can be a source of employment and create more tourism opportunities.
77 wrestlers participated in the Naga Style Wrestling. The oath was administered by games & sports secretary Kewetshu Mero.
The programme was led by Solomon Ritse while welcome address was proposed by Neichuzu Mero, secretary VDB Pfutseromi.
