Kohima, October 21 (MExN): 78 Battalion CRPF paid tribute to martyrs on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day at the Unit Hqr, Zubza, Kohima on October 21.
Surender Singh, Commandant 78 Bn CRPF besides senior officers and Jawans also laid wreaths and paid homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the altar of duty at the Jai Jawan Memorial.
“Every year, the Commemoration day is observed on October 21 to remember the sacrifices of 10 CRPF men who martyred fighting Chinese aggression on October 21, 1959 while discharging their duties at Hotspring, Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir,” a reelase here stated.
After the homage, Surender Singh briefed about the significance of the occasion and read out the list of Police personnel in the country who had laid down their lives in service of the country from September 1,2017 to August 31, 2018.
Debate, essay and quiz competition for children were also organized for school children of Zubza village and children of Jawans.
