Noklak, March 9 (MExN): A firing incident reportedly took place at International Trade Centre (ITC) Dan during the early hours of the morning on March 9.
Advisor (Prison’s Printing and Stationery) and DPDB Noklak Chairman H Haiying on Tuesday issued a condemnation of the incident terming it a ‘malicious and cowardly act’.
This is the seventh such incident after the establishment of International Trade Centre Dan where peace and tranquility of the citizens has been disturbed, the Advisor wrote and urged all peace loving citizens to condemn the act.
“Those people with nefarious intent have no place in the peace loving land, such unwarranted and provoking action should be stopped once and for all,” he added.
The International Trade Centre at Dan was established by the State Government of Nagaland in 1996 for trade and cultural exchange between the two countries (India & Myanmar) and not for exchange of bullets and shedding blood, he asserted.
He said that the aspiration of the Government to make ITC-Dan a trading hub for the two nations would be realized only when peace prevails in the region.
In this regard, he appealed to the State Government to immediately create an Administration HQ. Police station, Village Guards at ITC-Dan Pangsha in order to safeguard the life, property and development of the region/area.
