Dimapur, February 27 (MExN): The Panchayat Hall of the 7th Mile Model Village was inaugurated on February 27 by Razouvotuo Chatsu, Chairman, Chümoukedima Village Council and Advisor to Dimapur Villages Chairmen Association in a programme held at the village.

Razouvotuo Chatsu reminisced on the establishment of the village way back in 1948 by Lhouzekuo Angami and others by overcoming many difficulties. He mentioned that the village area was earlier a thick swampy forest and many unwanted activities also took place under such conditions. However, due to inhabitation, it has seen the light of the day, he said.

Chatsu encouraged the villagers to unitedly strive forward to be at par with others in matters of development and social activities.  While congratulating the villagers for the construction of the Panchayat Hall, he also appreciated the women organization and the youths for various social activities undertaken by them since 2018.

Maintaining that this inauguration of the Panchayat Hall is his third visit in the last two years, he observed that a village like 7th Mile Model Village should be a model to other villages and given the fact that all Naga tribes are settled in the village, it should reflect a ‘mini-Nagaland’, he opined.

The inauguration programme was attended by several Gaon Buras (GBs) and youth leaders from neighboring villages besides leaders and residents of the village. A feast was also organized after the programme. Earlier, Neibulie Bei-o, Pastor, NCRC Prayer Centre pronounced invocation prayer and KK Newmai, VCM delivered welcome speech on behalf of the Village Chairman.

Servanthood Bible College students presented a special number while short speeches were given by Zasizhalie Tacu, Head GB, Moangtula, Chairperson Women Association, Z Kepfelhou Koza, Chairman, SMC, and other invitees. Keneiletuo Zumvu, Youth President proposed vote of thanks and the benediction was pronounced by Moatemsu Jamir, Servanthood Bible College.
