Longleng, December 20 (MExN): The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Longleng conducted the 8th scientific committee meeting at KVK Office Training Hall, Longleng on December 18.
The meeting commenced with welcome speech by Dr Lily Ngullie (ACTO-A/Sc) KVK Longleng. The action taken report for the year 2020, progress report for the year January-December, 2020 and action plan for the year 2021 was presented by Dr KL Meena, Sr Scientist & Head, KVK Longleng.
The programme was chaired by Dr Lily Ngullie, ACTO (A/Sc).
The chief guest ADC, Longleng D Robin, urged all Line department of the district to coordinate with the KVK of the district for the welfare of the farmers. He encouraged the line department and the KVK to identify the specific problem of the farmers and carry out the technology that is beneficial to the farmers. Chief Guest also emphasised about marketing channel and strategy for locally available resources towards preservation and utilization for better production especially at local market. He also emphasised to take up terrace cultivation for vegetable crop instead of shifting cultivation in the district.
Allied department from Agriculture, Veterinary, Horticulture, NSRLM participated in the programme. All together six progressive farmers from different villages attended the meeting. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by technical officer Wati Longkumer.
