KOHIMA, DECEMBER 17 (MExN): The Nagaland Government, through the Municipal Affairs Department, has appointed 93 Government Nominee members across various Municipal and Town Councils in the state. This move comes in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023. A notification issued by T. Nchumbemo Odyuo, Additional Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, confirmed the appointments, which are distributed among 3 Municipal Councils and 22 Town Councils in the state. According to the notification, these Government Nominee members will have the right to attend and speak at meetings of their respective councils, but they will not have voting rights. Their tenure will align with that of the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
