Zhavame, April 23 (MExN): The 9th Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) Convention began here today at St Xavier's Church, Zhavame on April 23.

The three-day convention from April 23-25, is being held under the theme ‘Loving my faith and living my faith’.

Speaking on the topic ‘Counseling’ in the introductory session, Rev Fr Dr George Rino, Director, Men's Hostel SJC (Autonomous), Jakhama dwelt on different aspects of counseling while pointing out that people think only those who have mental problems or are not strong enough go for counseling. 

In this regard, he pointed out that counseling is very loosely used by the people and added that many people need counseling in different areas including the prevalent mobile addiction.

"Counseling is a talking therapy between the counselor and the client to bring effective change," he said.

He also gave a brief highlight on the ethics of counseling.

During the introductory session, Jesus Youth (JY) led the ‘singspiration’, while Rev Sr Ruokuoleü Rita Kera, MSMHC, Lady Animator NCYM read the Bible and pronounced the invocation. Martha Dukru, Convener of the NCYM Convention gave the welcome note while CYA, St Xavier's Church, Zhavame presented a welcome song and Menuoselie Philip of St Paul's Parish, Phesama also presented a special number.
