Special COVID vaccination for fathers in Kiphire 

Kiphire, June 17 (MExN): The District Task Force Committee on COVID-19 will be holding a special vaccination drive on June 20, coinciding with the Father's Day celebration. The DTF Kiphire has requested all the health centres to arrange 'Special Vaccination Camp' specially meant for fathers, while wives and children above 18 years of age and above have been requested to accompany their husband/father and avail the vaccine too. 

DC Kiphire informs on firing practices

Kiphire, June 17 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire has informed the public of Kiphire village and Okhezung village that the 7 Assam Rifle troops, Kiphire will be conducting firing practices at firing range of 14 IRB, Kiphire on June 18, 22, 25, 29 and July 2, 6, 9, 13 and 16 respectively. Announcement for more awareness was also carried out on June 17 in this regard. Citizens residing in the villages near the firing range have been informed not to enter the firing range area. Violation of the information will be self-explanatory, the DC stated. 

NSCN (IM) informs 

Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today informed that 11 members from its Union Territory (UT), Region “stand terminated from the National Service and membership of NSCN with immediate effect for breach of national principle and deliberately defying the government AHZA.” A press release from MIP, NSCN (IM) informed that the ‘terminated’ members have defected to NSCN/GPRN K (Khango). According to the release, the members were:  Avi Chishi, Tatar; Pito Achumi, Tatar; H. John Aye, Leacy; Khevishe Shohe, Leacy; Aghavi Achumi, Razou Peyu; Angukavi Achumi, Razou Peyu; Kakheto Jimo, Razou Peyu; Iheshe Chophy, Razou Peyu; Ahozhe Achumi, Razou Peyu; Kheshito Achumi, Khapur and Akuto Achumi, Khapur. 

Paro Devi Jain no more

Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): A prominent citizen of Dimapur, Paro Devi Jain, Treasurer of SD Jain Mahila Samaj passed away in the early morning hours of June 16.  She was 75 and survived by two sons, one daughter and five grandchildren. Late Paro Devi was the wife of late Subhkaran Jain (Subia), and the family has been residing in the State for the past five generations, informed a press note received here. She hails from renowned family of Nagaland, known more by the firm name M/s Nandlal Subhkaran Jain having varied business interests and have been pioneers, it said.  “Late Paro Devi was a pious lady who was always willing to help the people in need and had the privilege of visiting almost all the pilgrimage sites of Jains,” it added.  It further informed that late Paro Devi left behind ‘two enterprising’ sons Sanjay and Manoj (Mantu) Jain and daughter Sujata (Pinky), who is married to a Guwahati businessman, besides five grandchildren. “We all pray for her to have her salvation at the earliest,” added the press note from Ajay Sethi of Jain Samaj, Dimapur. 

MLA Yangseo Sangtam condoles 

Kiphire, June 17 (MExN): MLA and Chairman DPDB Kiphire Y Yangseo Sangtam has condoled the demise of  Selitong GB, the President Kiphire District GBs Association on June 17 after a brief illness on June 17.   He was also a former General Secretary of United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) as well as Finance Secretary of Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organisation (ENPO). In a condolence note, the MLA described late Selitong as a dedicated and visionary leader “working and voicing for the people of Kiphire in various capacities towards the cause of society.”  His demise is a great loss not only for the Sangtam community but for the entire District as a whole. The vacuum created by his loss is difficult to fill, Yangseo said.  He further conveyed his sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the deceased wife, Liola and children on the irreparable loss of her beloved husband and loving father and prayed that the Almighty God grant peace and solace at their hour of grief. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace, he added. 

NSCN (IM) Sumi Region condoles 

Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): The Central Administrative Officer (CAO), Sumi Region of NSCN (IM) has expressed shock and sadness over the untimely demise of Major General (posthumous) Tokiho Chishi on June 17.  “We Sumi in particular and Nagas in general have lost a great patriot who has dedicated his precious life for the Naga Nation,” stated a condolence note from CAO (Caretaker) Pasheto Chishi Swu. The Sumi Region extends our deepest condolence to the bereaved family and relatives, and wish for the Almighty's comfort and solace during this time of sorrow, it said, adding that “sacrificial contribution towards the Naga Nation will ever be remembered in the history of Naga National struggle.” “May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” it added.  

NPP mourns 

Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): The National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland State has expressed sadness over the demise of Akuto Yepthomi, the eldest son of Late Lhomithi Yepthomi, an ex MLA. “His demise is indeed a great tragedy for the Sumi Community and our society at large. We have lost a man of exceptional talents, who was an outstanding business man among his contemporaries,” stated a condolence note from the NPP State Unit President Andrew Ahoto Sema. “Though, he has departed from us, his legacy shall live on immortalised, ceaselessly commemorated in our hearts,” it said.  The NPP further conveyed its respect and deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. “May their grieving hearts find solace in the mercy of our Lord and may his boundless love comfort their pain. May the departed rest in eternal peace,” it added.
