‘A Walk into a Fading Heritage’ exhibition from Aug 22 to 23

Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): Fading Heritage, a not-for-profit Media Production House based in Dimapur, will be initiating an ethnography documentary photography exhibition tour titled ‘A Walk into a Fading Heritage.’ 

According to a press release received here on Sunday, the month long exhibition tour from August to September will be hosted in various schools, colleges, universities, visual art galleries. It will also be hosted at the Nagaland Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Investment and Banking Conclave 2022 at NBCC Convention Center, Kohima from August 22 to 23.

In the release, Founder and Managing Director Donindra Yengkhom stated that the Media House is a Pan North East India initiative covering all the eight states of the region.  It said that the exhibition will also be hosted in all the eight capital cities of all the North Eastern States as well as in the capital city of India – New Delhi, commemorating the World Photography Day 2022 and World Tourism Day 2022.

‘A Walk into a Fading Heritage’ is an exhibition “where many legendary stories from across the villages of North East India find listeners through a series of photo essays, depicting the many facets of our people, our place and our culture. The tales of which have emerged out of Morungs, out of peoples’ bravery, and out of lands that are enchanted by the diverse cultural heritage and festivities which is fighting the wave of modern-day evolution of urban living in a cosmopolitan society,” the release stated.

Stating that the project was first started in the year 2011, the release stated that Yengkhom has been documenting the Naga tribes of Nagaland and beyond through digital still photography and short documentary films with an aim to preserve, protect and promote the people, place and culture.

His vision is to promote and spread awareness about the rich cultural heritage of Nagaland in particular and North East India in general to the people around the world through photography exhibition tours, coffee-table photo-book publications and book launch, it added.
