Dimapur, August 27 (MExN): The Aam Admi Party (AAP) Nagaland today stated that it “unequivocally stands opposed to the Forest Conservation (Amendment) Act 2023.” The Act sounds and looks good but the intention is “nefarious,” the party said in a press release from its Media Cell and maintained that it would have “disastrous effect particularly on people of Nagaland.” “The land for centuries belonged to the people of Nagaland and it cannot be infringed by a ‘flowery’ Act which particularly has its eyes on the lands of tribal population in border areas,” it added. AAP Nagaland further appealed to the conscience of the mass and not to support the said Act.
