Dimapur, May 19 (MExN): The executive body of the All Nagaland Industrial Entrepreneurs’ Federation (ANIEF) on May 17 has termed the demand for resignation of federation’s office bearers “unwarranted” and claimed that certain CTSS and CCISS beneficiaries and with “vested interests with ulterior motive” made the demand.
On May 16, some beneficiaries and district representatives CTSS and CCISS, in a joint statement, have demanded the resignation of ANIEF office bearers or convening a general meeting without delay.
“The present office bearers of ANIEF have been pursuing for claims of Central Transport Subsidy (CTS) and Central Capital Investment Subsidy (CCIS) under pending cases in respect of Nagaland for the period of 2007, 2008 and 2009 under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MCI) (Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion) GoI (Government of India), New Delhi, right from 2011 till date,” the federation stated in a rejoinder-cum-press release.
Moreover, the federation had constituted an action committee in November 2014 and its members had undertaken at least 15 times trip to New Delhi to pursue the matter from 2015 to 2017, but without success, stated the ANIEF in a rejoinder issued by its President, Povotso Lohe and , General Secretary, Orenbomo Humtsoe.
“Successive chief ministers of the state including the present CM along with the State Department of Industries & Commerce have put in lots of efforts on the matter but unfortunately all these ‘sincere efforts’ fell on deaf ear of MCI, GoI,” it maintained.
Many selected entrepreneurs under the schemes have been facing great financial hardships to run their industrial units while a good number of the units have been closed, it also noted.
Accordingly, the ANIEF termed the demand for resignation of the present office bearers by a few proprietors of SSI units as “mischievous, unwarranted and uncalled for.”
The incumbent office-bearers have been struggling making run from pillar to post for this unaccomplished task all these years, it justified.
In addition, the federation informed that a general meeting has been convened by the current ANIEF office bearers on May 25, at 11AM at the State Red Cross complex in Kohima to elect a new team.
All ANIEF office bearers, action committee members, district representatives, selected entrepreneurs under pending cases and proprietors of SSI units across the state have been requested to attend the meeting, it added.
