DIMAPUR, JANUARY 22 (MExN): The All Nagaland Trained Physical Education Unemployed Union (ANTPEUU) has reiterated its demand to the Education Department to advertise vacant posts for physical teachers by this year.
A press release from the union’s President, Kivilu K Kiba and General Secretary, Imchatsung informed that there is a growing number of unemployed Physical Education trained cadre in the State.
The ANTPEUU held a meeting on January 20 in Dimapur, where it was noted that a number of Physical Education trained cadres are on the last year of being over-aged. It lamented that the demands laid down by ANTPEUU has been stagnant since 2019.
The union informed of post vacancies for many physical education teachers in government schools and stressed on the importance of teaching physical activity and fitness. “In the field of physical activity, Nagaland is lacking far behind and the students need to be trained and taught at an early stage from the grassroots level for proper education,” it added.
It further stated that “most of the trained qualified teachers are going out of touch” as advertisement for interviews and examinations for employment have long been pending. “Many of the trained Physical Education teachers completed the course training by 2017 and are staying with anticipation of job advertisement from the Education Department,” it pointed out.
The union resolved to pressure the responsible authority to advertise the post vacancies by this year itself. It meanwhile informed members that the general meeting for the year will be held soon and notified through its Whatsapp group.
