Minister Jacob unveils the Golden Jubilee monolith of the Aghunaqa Kukami Kuqhakulu in Niuland on November 28.
Niuland, November 28 (MExN): The Aghunaqa Kükami Kuqhakulu ( Aghunaqa Area GBs Association) under Niuland district celebrated its Golden Jubilee with Minister of PHED and Cooperation Jacob Zhimomi as the special guest.
Gracing the occasion, the Minister emphasised the importance of the GB institution. Reminding them that they are the bridge between the government and the public, Jacob stated that their relevance cannot be undermined, especially when Naga society is undergoing several changes.
At the same time, Zhimomi urged them to adapt to the changing times and being simultaneously rooted in tradition. Mentioning that Golden Jubilee is an fitting time for gratitude and retrospection, he encouraged the GBs to remain steadfast in their commitment to public service and welfare, as envisioned by the pioneers.
As grassroot representatives, he appealed to them to represent the people's interests above everything else. Encompassing 39 villages, Jacob pointed out that Aghunaqa area is rapidly developing for which he credited the public for seamless cooperation. He expressed confidence that Aghunaqa would continue to witness concrete development in the near future.
On the occasion, the Minister also unveiled the Golden Jubilee Monolith.
