Kohima, December 11 (MExN): The Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (AGOK) held a dinner-cum-get together programme under the motto ‘U Themia Dzevi’ with Angami contractors and suppliers at AGOK Badze, Meriema on December 9.

A press release from the organisation on Sunday informed that the programme was organised in appreciation of their (contractors and suppliers) benevolence and unwavering support towards good causes in the society. It was also organised as a way to develop unity and better understanding between the two, so as to work hand in hand for the welfare and well-being of the people.

According to the release, President, AGOK, Neilasa Sopfü who chaired the programme highlighted the two main initiatives undertaken by AGOK— the AGOK Education Trust (AET) for students with potential who are unable to pursue further studies or compete at the highest level due to financial constraints and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship for educated unemployed youth as job opportunity in the state has reached the saturation point.

Sopfü said that creating awareness programmes and giving the educated unemployed youth suitable trainings on different aspects is paramount in order to encourage them to take up skill development and entrepreneurship as a career rather than solely depending on the limited resources and government for employment.

On the occasion, President, Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union, Pele Khezhie stated that AGOK Badze, once completed, would help the people in many ways and expressed his appreciation over the initiatives taken by AGOK. Such a big project with multifaceted facilities is the ‘need of the hour’ in the capital, he said while assuring to help AGOK Badze in all possible ways.

Rokolhou Angami who spoke on the occasion congratulated AGOK for envisioning such a big project for the interest of the community in general and the AGOK in particular.

While sharing his experiences, he emphasised that one should have strong determination and consistency, and not be carried away by negative setbacks, in order to become successful in any profession. He challenged them to be bold enough to overcome such odds and obstacles with renewed spirit, according to the release.

He also supported AGOK's initiatives on skill development with special reference to construction sector and the AET. Angami  urged them to keep educating, creating awareness on the importance of skill development and entrepreneurship to educated unemployed youth.

Convenor of the Construction Committee, AGOK Badze, Er Kezhazelhou Theünuo gave a PowerPoint presentation while vote of thanks was proposed by Joint Secretary, AGOK, Ketusielie Kuotsu.

Pastor, CRC, Meriema, Neilakuolie Huozha invoked God's blessings while Virie presented a special number, the release stated.
