Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The Department of Agriculture, Niuland conducted an orientation and one day training programme for the newly created Self Help Group- Shitsa SHG under the sub-scheme Women in Agriculture, RKVY at Ghotovi village under Niuland Block on June 26.
The Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO) L Kivika Chophi briefed the group members about various scopes in the agricultural sector which the SHGs can take up to generate income and further encouraged them to make use of all the benefits that will be provided under the scheme to improve their livelihood.
Ditolyn Sumi, Agriculture Officer trained the group on how to follow improved package of practices on Soybean for higher production. According to a press release from the SDAO, fifteen members of the group attended the said meeting. The Department supplied the SHG with seed money, soybean HYV seeds, falcon tool sets, biofertilizers, knapsack sprayer and watering can as an input support.
