A six-day skill training of rural youth (STRY) on food processing and preservation was organized by Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Longleng in collaboration with State Agricultural Management and Training Institute, Medziphema and National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management, Hyderabad at ATMA office, Longleng from December 14 to 19. The objective of the training was to improve the skills of youths by imparting knowledge on value addition of locally available fruits, vegetables and spices so as to minimize post harvest losses and also generate income through the sale of the processed products. Altogether 15 trainees attended the training programme along with ATMA Longleng staffs. Positive feedback was received from the participants and certificates were issued on the completion of the training programme, according to a press release from PD ATMA and DSO Longleng, T Mhao Humtsoe.
