DIMAPUR, MARCH 9 (MExN): The Dimapur district administration today informed citizens of Dimapur that according to Indian Air Force officials adequate proactive precautionary measures would now be taken up, to avoid supersonic flying profile towards Dimapur town sector by fighter jets. This assurance came in view of various organizations expressing grievances over sonic booms heard in Dimapur frequently. “The frequent sonic booms heard in the district are caused due to fighter aircraft operations at very high altitudes, as part of their routine regular training exercise profile, which is conducted as per requirements,” informed the district administration in a notice issued through the DIPR. The Air Force also informed, as per the notice, that in the interim period, the sound created should not create any panic situation amongst the public, as appropriate close coordination is being carried out.
