Akho emerges winner of Naga King Chilli Eating Competition

Consuming five king chillies in 20 seconds, Akho from the Chakhesang community won the Naga King Chilli eating competition held on December 7, at Kisama, at the ongoing Hornbill Festival. The winner of the competition won cash prize of Rs. 20,000 finishing five hot Naga king chillies in 20 seconds.  

Seintong from Peren district bagged the second prize finishing four and half king chillies in 20 seconds. He walked away with a cash of prize of Rs.15, 000.  

The third position were bagged by Aku Khamo from Kohima district and and Seiminlal from Peren district who both consumed four raja chillies in 20 seconds. Both winners won a cash of Rs. 10,000 each. Keneiselhou Viyie was adjudged the winner in the fifth position. Viyie who finished three chillies in 20 seconds won a cash of Rs. 5000. Altogether, 8 individuals participated in the Local Naga King Chilli Eating competition. Other participants.[/caption] Organized by XL Nagaland and sponsored by the Department of Horticulture, the competition also included a tourist category where four participants including a female participated.  

Topan from Guwahati was declared the winner in the tourist category. He consumed six chillies in 20 seconds. The prizes were given away by T. Mhabemo Yanthan, Secretary, Tourism department. .Morung Express News
