‘All citizens advised to be 100% vaccinated before December 25’

Wokha, November 25 (MExN): The Wokha District Task Force for COVID-19 held a meeting with colonies chairman in Wokha district under the chairmanship of SDO (C) Wokha, Selemla S Sangtam on November 25.

According to a DIPR report, she informed the colonies chairman that as per directive received from higher authority that all citizens are advised to be 100% vaccinated before December 25, in this regard the medical team, Officers from different departments assisted by ASHA and Anganwadi Workers have already started visiting house to house campaign for collection of data/census to know about the status of vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals/persons, where she requested all the wards/colonies chairman to assist and extend support the teams while visiting their respective colonies to achieve the target and increase the percentage of vaccination.

Chief Medical Officer, Wokha while giving the status report of Wokha district about COVID-19, said the district has so far reported 407 positive cases out of which 284 persons are non-vaccinated, and 69 persons have taken the first dose where 54 has availed the second dose, he stated that looking at the data/percentage majority of the positive people were non-vaccinated and urged all citizens to get the vaccine, because getting the vaccine is the only way to keep ourselves safe from COVID-19.

SDO (C) also informed that after collecting the census the District Task Force will fix a specific date and special campaign for vaccination will be conducted. Colonies chairman who attended the meeting assured their fullest co-operation and assist the District Task Force to achieve the target.
