The United Naga Council after having met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in New Delhi few days ago had already hinted that it might review its stand on the ongoing agitation on November 28. Chidambaram had appealed fervently to the UNC leaders in that November 22 meeting in New Delhi to lift the economic blockade. UNC is likely to hold a meeting on Monday.
Also, the Sadar Hills District Demand Committee (SHDDC) which had held a meeting on Thursday and Friday is going to have a meeting with the state Chief Minister on November 28, according to a well placed source. The source said it can be the last meeting for the SHDDC with the state government representatives over the Sadar Hills issue. Going by the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the SHDDC and the state government of Manipur, the SHDDC’s demand will be met within November.
With the time running out for the state government as per the MoU signed with the SHDDC the Monday meeting is going to be very crucial.
