‘All govt offices in Zunheboto made tobacco free zone’
District Tobacco Control Cell held a district co-ordination meeting with church leaders of SBAK- Nito Mount at Mission Compound, Nito Mount on February 24.
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 26 (MExN): District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) held a district co-ordination meeting with church leaders of SBAK- Nito Mount on February 24 at Mission Compound, Nito Mount.
Dr Esther Chophy Ngullie, Dental Surgeon, DH, Zunheboto, speaking at the event, highlighted the activities carried out in the district. She stated that so far the DTCC has carried out awareness programme in 14 schools covering 2255 students, community awareness in 5 churches, 2 training on tobacco awareness and COTPA 2003 and enforcement drives carried out.
She also stated that 10 schools in Zunheboto has been declared as tobacco free schools and all government offices in Zunheboto as tobacco free zone.
Informing this in a press release issued by the District Medical Officer, Shekho Sophie, the church leaders conveyed their full co-operation and support for the successful implementation of making the society a tobacco free.
The meeting was chaired by Rev. Hukugha Zhimo, Executive Secretary- SBAK, Nito Mount. Invocation was pronounced by Rev. Toshika and benediction by Ahoto Awomi. The meeting was attended by the church leaders, dental surgeons, DH and NTCP staff.
