Kohima, September 5 (MExN): Deputy Registrar, Nagaland Medical Council, Dr Kevilhulie Meyase through a report issued by the DIPR has informed all Allopathic Doctors in Nagaland practicing Modern Scientific System of Medicine that:
1. Medical certificates for leave and fitness must bear signature or thumb mark and at least one identification mark of the patient and Nagaland Medical Council (NMC) Registration number of the doctors, (a standard Performa laid down by Medical Council of India (MCI) and attached as Appendix - 2).
2. Every physician shall display registration number and recognized Medical Degree(s) accorded to him/her by the NMC/MCI. (MCI Code of Ethics 1.4)
3. Allopathic Doctors from other States for short term practice in clinic/hospitals or medical camps will be allowed only after they are registered under NMC ( Section 16(6) of NMC Act 2014)
4. Foreign/NRI doctors coming for the purpose of short term medical Practice/Research/Training are required to get temporary permission from Medical Council of India and report to State Medical Council/ Nagaland Medical Council. (Section 14 (1) Indian Medical Council Act 1956).
