Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): IQAC, Women's cell of Unity College, observed International Women's Day, on the theme ‘Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world’ on March 8.
Rozila S Sangtam, (MA Pol Sc,3rd semester) was the Chairperson for the programme which started with an invocation prayer by Suipolie, Assistant Professor, (Department of Education).
It was followed by a presentation by 'The National Cadet Corps'(Ladies Wing), Unity College. The Cadets displayed some self- defense moves for ladies to be used in response to an immediate threat.
Dr Tongpangkumla, (Head of Department, Commerce) delivered a speech on the occasion. She spoke on the power of women leaders and how women played a central role in combating COVID-19 and encouraged every woman to take up challenges.
Special number was delivered by Makenlepden (BA 2nd semester) while Alitoli V Sumi Assistant Professor, (Department of History) delivered the vote of thanks.
