The All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers Group (ANATG) 2015 batch has temporarily withdrawn its sit-in protest, which was ongoing since February 4, 2026, demanding regularisation of their services.
In an announcement made by its Media Cell, the group stated that the decision to put the agitation on hold was taken unanimously during a general meeting held on February 21.
While the protest has been paused, the group clarified that the demands of the adhoc teachers remain unchanged.
The aggrieved teachers will submit a Charter of Demands on February 23 (Monday) as part of their continued engagement with the government.
According to the group, the decision to temporarily suspend the protest was made in view of the assurance given by the department to translate it into concrete action.
ANATG further stated that June 30 has been set as the deadline for the regularisation of their services. The group asserted that failure to meet this timeline would compel them to reconsider their course of action and resume democratic protests.
The ANATG has been agitating for regularisation for several years since 2018, with the latest phase of protest in early February, marked by daily sit-ins, hunger strike and repeated appeals to the government for a time-bound resolution.
The sit-in demonstration was initiated earlier this month to pressurise the state government for the regularisation of their appointments.
The ANATG-2015 batch has been seeking a resolution to their service status, which has been a long-pending issue for the educators.
