DIMAPUR, AUGUST 14 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has given the Nagaland State Government one week’s time to address its demands regarding scholarships and land encroachment in educational institutes.
A press note from the ANCSU, while informing that its meeting with the Chief Minister remained inconclusive, stated that until the demands are fulfilled, the college students will not accept any kind of considerations and mere verbal assurance shall not pacify the aggrieved students.
While asking all college students to resume attending regular classes, it asked the concerned authority to conduct all necessary examinations and activities within this week. The government is appealed to address the demands in written assurance so as to avoid further confrontations, it added.
If the government fails to do so within the week, the ANCSU stated that students would “openly confront with government vehicles not to ply all over the state,” starting August 20. In such scenario, it cautioned government vehicles to “ply at their own risk.” In this, the ANCSU asked college students to participate for the said mode of agitation when called for.
