Kohima, June 24 (MExN): The All Nagaland Industrial Entrepreneurs Federation (ANIEF) expressed serious concern over the undue delay in making payment to around 3500 units causing great financial hardship in running their units which hampers industrial growth in Nagaland since there is no big industry in the state and a good number of families are depending their livelihood on SSI units.
ANIEF, in its general meeting held on June 22 at Kohima, which was attended by its executives, District representatives and Individual Industrial Entrepreneurs of Small Scale Industrial (SSI) units throughout the state noted and observed that there are vested interest who have been continuously campaigning against release of funds under the scheme by way if lodging complaint letters one after another to the Government of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, New Delhi since December 2007 till date for their self interest thereby depriving the due share of the selected beneficiaries.
A press release received here, issued by its president, Povtso Lohe and general secretary ANIEF Orenbomo Humtose stated that the meeting thoroughly deliberated and reviewed the latest position regarding the pending cases around 5,300 industrial units all over the state under both the central transport subsidy and Capital investment subsidy which cases were duly cleared by the state level committee (SLC) for the year 2007-8 and 2009 under the state department of industries & Commerce and also cautioned those ill-motivated elements working against the interest of the general public particularly the industrial entrepreneurs to immediately refrain themselves from doing so, otherwise the Federation shall be compelled to take its matter to the street for justice and fair platy in the interest of the entrepreneurs.
The Federation also in a resolution strongly urged the state government of Nagaland particularly Department of Industries & Commerce to put more efforts for early release of funds to make payment to the selected units under the scheme for those pending three years, while reiterating its full support and cooperation to the state government and the department of industries & commerce toward clearing these pending cases and successfully implementation of various schemes under it, upholding the declaration of “Year of Entrepreneur” by the state government of Nagaland in letter and spirit to help the educated unemployed in the state.
