All Nagaland Private Schools Association Pfutsero sub-division organised ‘cultural meet’ at Nazareth School, Pfutsero on April 21.

Pfutsero, April 24 (MExN): All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) Pfutsero sub-division organised ‘cultural meet’ with the theme, ‘shaping minds with cultural values’ at Nazareth School, Pfutsero on April 21.
Gracing the function, Zhalie Puro, Assistant District Manager, NSRLM, Rural Development Phek briefed the gathering about the rich Naga culture, including organic food and drinks, traditional agricultural practices and dignity of labour. He exhorted, the members present to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Nagas, a press release received here stated.
A total of 16 schools participated in folk song quartet competition and nine schools in the drama competition based on the Naga folktale, ‘The Legend of Sopfunuo.’
The judges for the drama competition were Diezeno Tase, Assistant Prof PGC, Neitele Mero, Assistant Prof, BTC and Dr Aneile Puro Associate Prof, DIET. The judges for quartet were Shuduzo Curhah, Wekhroü Ritse and Vehüsülü Rose.
Winners of the drama competition were: Baptist School, Pfutsero (1st), Nazareth School, Pfutsero (2nd) and Baptist Mission School, Phusachodu (3rd). A sum of Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 1000 were presented to the winners respectively along with certificates. Best Actor (male) was won by Kosoho of Baptist School, Pfutsero and Best Actor (female) was won Sopfunuo of Eastern Mission High School, Chizami.
Winners of the quartet were: Baptist School, Pfutsero (1st), Union Christian School, Pfutsero (2nd) and Solomon Christian School, Middle Khomi (3rd). A sum of Rs 4000, Rs 2000 and Rs 1000 were presented respectively with certificates.
All the 24 member schools were presented with certificate of participation.
The donors for the event were Dr Neisatuo Mero, MLA, Zaveta Kotso Associate Prof DIET, Pfutsero, Wetsolhi Khape, Proprietor UCS Fr Lancy Santosh D’Costa, Kalos Society.
Earlier, the programme started with invocation led by Fr Lancy Santosh D’Costa, Principal, Nazareth School and welcome address was proposed by Thepuhu Thira, President, ANPSA Pfutsero. The Hill Brothers Band performed their original song ‘Tüce Küsa’. David Kezo, Treasurer proposed the vote of thanks.
