ANPSTA calls for fair open recruitment of D.EL.ED trainees

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 25 (MExN): The All Nagaland Pre-Service Teachers' Association (ANPSTA) has called for conduct of fair open recruitment for the post of primary teachers for D.EL.ED trainees. A press release from the ANPSTA said that “many honest trainees who refused backdoor appointment in the past are on the verge of getting over age.”

It welcomed the initiatives taken by Advisor for School Education and SCERT, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome such as conducting pilot experiment of Teachers' Attendance Monitoring System (TAMS).

While appreciating the efforts, it reminded the Advisor that for more than 5 years, not a single post of primary teacher has been recruited in open and fair means “despite of the High court awarding a verdict in the association’s favour which the department failed to comply with the order till date.” It added that when counterparts like physical education teachers, drawing teachers posts were advertised in the NSSB, not a single post of primary teacher was advertised in the NSSB 2022.

While welcoming the initiative to conduct Nagaland Teacher Eligibility Test (N-TET), it urged the Advisor to look into the examination fee which is “four times higher than any other exam ever conducted in Nagaland.” “An amount of Rs 1500 is charged for each person which is equivalent to 50 percent salary of the current Village Guard (VG),” it stated.
