ANTA condemns murder of fellow taxi driver

Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Kohima Unit strongly condemns the brutal murder of one of our fellow Taxi drivers, Saddam by unknown miscreants along Jalukie Road, near Medziphema. This was stated in a press release issued by ANTA president, Kohima Unit, R Robert Kire.

The victim driving Zonal Taxi (NL01T 8073) Alto Standard was reportedly hired by three persons from Dimapur to come to Kohima on March 18. However, the press note mentioned that neither the taxi nor the driver reached Kohima, but his dead body was recovered by Medziphema police and kept in Dimapur Civil Hospital morgue on March 19.

“ANTA Kohima Unit was informed about an unidentified dead body being kept in the morgue today, which our colleague identified to be that of Saddam, who had been missing since March 18,” said Robert while also mentioning that the vehicle is suspected to be taken away by the miscreants after murdering the taxi driver. Robert further said, “Such gory act of some unscrupulous persons should not have any place in the Naga society while all concerned right thinking citizens should come up against such act.” The press note appealed the concerned administration and law enforcing agencies to nab the culprit(s) at the earliest and give exemplary punishment.

The press note informed that any information regarding missing zonal taxi (NL01T 8073) with engine no. F8DN4740566 and chasis no. MA3EAA61S0196521 can be passed to ANTA Kohima Unit, president at 9436005458 or ANTA Kohima Unit Action Committee Convenor, Menuovilie Shuohu at 9402766989.
