Dimapur, May 24 (MExN): The All Nagaland Trained Physical Education Unemployed Union (ANTPEUU) will be hosting a two-day free online physical fitness training programme on May 25 and 26 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm through Google Meet.
The programme will also be telecast live through the Union’s official Instagram page (@antpeuu) where the importance of physical fitness and health education will be discussed, it informed in a press release on Monday. It said that the training will be hosted and assisted by the ANTPEUU officials and initiatives will be taken by a qualified Master’s degree holder (MPEd, NET), lifeguard (swimming), fitness instructor and a physical teacher and the Google Meet link would be made available on its Instagram page.
In the release, the union underscored that the COVID-19 pandemic has restricted people’s daily activities and various restrictions have made it easier for people to remain sedentary at home for long periods of time. The impact of this physical inactivity may very likely be seen in many areas such as health and social care and the mental well-being of people, it said.
It further stated that the training was conceptualised with the realisation that the collective efforts are required in order to take action and provide everyone with more opportunities to be active. It said that schools are in a unique position to help students get their recommended daily physical activity by promoting higher physical education for a healthy society, and as such, requested all the schools and physical teachers to encourage the students to take part in the online training.
