DIMAPUR, JULY 9 (MExN): The Ao Senden has outrightly condemned the act of violence that took place on the morning of July 5 near Anaki C under Mokokchung district, which claimed 3 lives and which resulted in the damage of some houses by unidentified miscreants. “It is a natural relationship that Assam and Nagaland will remain neighbors forever. It is, therefore, essential that the neighbours know how to co-exist peacefully while trying to settle any disagreements that may be confronting them,” a condemnation note from the tribal body stated.
The Ao Senden has therefore appealed to all concerned to desist from violent activities and try to resolve any dispute that may arise in the border areas amicably. “The Ao Senden also appeals the AJYCP and AASU to lift the economic blockade without any further delay in the interest of both the states. We must know that economic blockade not only makes consumers suffer but lead to economic loss to suppliers too. The Ao Senden further appeals the state government to be more sensitive and responsive to the problems with the people living in border areas. The Ao Senden appeals all concerned to endure the inconveniences caused by the economic blockade imposed upon us by our neighbor for the good of our future.”
