Dimapur, June 22 (MExN): Aoyimkum village became the first village under Dimapur district to inoculate all its adult population with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday.
In a press release, District Programme Officer (UIP-RCH) Dr Rebecca attributed the achievement to the hard work of the staff under Aoyimkum Sub-Center and also due the support of the village authorities and the community of Aoyimkum. She expressed hope that more villages under Dimapur district would achieve the same feat in the on-going vaccination drive.
The DPO also urged village authorities and religious organisations to disseminate awareness on vaccine safety and efficacy and importance of vaccination in their respective jurisdictions to achieve such an accomplishment.
A total of 592 eligible beneficiaries of the age 18 and above were vaccinated during the vaccination drive which was carried out in collaboration with Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission.
