Appeal for communal harmony

Dimapur, August 20 (MExN): Church leaders and women of Kiphire have appealed to the Sangtam and Yimchungru communities to do away with any misunderstanding between them and diffuse the tensions.   Kiphire Town Pastor’s Fellowship and Woman Welfare Society, Kiphire issued a message today appealing the Sangtam and Yimchungru communities “to defuse any tension and misunderstanding among them in spite of any likelihood of misunderstanding may arise at this present situation.”

“…the organizations also appeal to both the community to maintain the spirit of peace and harmony at the larger interest of peace and people living in the district,” the message stated. The Nagaland government is also urged to settle the point of dispute at the earliest, to restore peace and reconciliation.

USLB requests Yimchungrus to return to Kiphire 
A local organization in Kiphire district has asked “the Yimchunger” to “return back to Kiphire town.” The United Sangtam Likhum Bumji issued a note today requesting “the Yimchunger to return back to Kiphire town” and lead “normal life.” The USLB said it has “no intention to harm the Yimchunger in any manner. 

“As the USLB has no intention to harm the Yimchunger brothers/sisters in any manner. The USLB also want to make it clear that the land dispute of Pungro town shall not reflect the Yimchungers settled at Kiphire town from any angle,” the USLB stated. 

According to the USLB, the “issue is with the state government and the decision shall arrive between the state government and USLB. The organization requests the Yimchunger who left Kiphire town “to return and lead normal life.”
