Mon, August 23 (MExN): The Inspector General, Assam Rifles (North), visited flood-affected areas of Tizit in Mon district, Nagaland, on August 22 to review the prevailing situation and assess the impact of recent floods on the local population and essential infrastructure.
During the visit, the Inspector General visited Holy Trinity School, Tizit, and assessed the damage caused to its infrastructure by the floods. He interacted with school authorities and reviewed the immediate requirements for restoration and rehabilitation of the affected facilities.

Members of the General Body, Chairman and Secretary of Tizit Town also met the Inspector General and apprised him of the concerns and difficulties faced by the local population in the aftermath of the floods. Their concerns included restoration of essential infrastructure, rehabilitation of affected families and timely assistance to flood victims.
The Inspector General assured the school authorities and local representatives of all possible assistance and support for relief, restoration and rehabilitation efforts. He directed that dedicated, timely and need-based assistance be extended to the flood-affected population, with support reaching those in need on priority.
The visit reaffirmed the Assam Rifles' commitment to the welfare of people in the Northeast and its resolve to stand with communities affected by natural calamities.
The initiative also highlighted the Force's continued efforts towards humanitarian assistance, community outreach and restoration of normalcy in flood-affected areas.
