Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): The office of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) 2 Dimapur-II Assembly Constituency has requested for constructing a Traffic Island at busy Super Market area near Essar Petrol Pump connecting four junctions.
A Traffic Island is urgently required to erect for public safety and to avoid any unwanted situations, stated a letter to Commissioner of Police, Dimapur by Supu Jamir, the NDPP candidate from the Dimapur-II constituency during the last assembly election.
It is one of the busiest junctions in the commercial hub as one side daily bazaar is located and on the other side it is linked up with National Highway-29 from three points, he noted. Besides, it is also connected with Kachari ruins (Historical site) wherein tourists are flooding from different parts of the world, he added.
Accordingly, Jamir urged for erecting the traffic Island by the authority concerned in the interest of the public safety and for the convenience of the public.
