Dimapur, October 20 (MExN): A Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) exercise on the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) was organised in Seluophe village, under Dhansiripar block, Dimapur on October 18 by PHED (Rural) Division, Dimapur in collaboration with Implementation and Support Agency (ISA) Act of Kindness Society.
In a press release, IEC Consultant, PHED (Rural) Division, Dimapur Vibou Seyie informed that the PRA was based on Focused Group Discussion, water resource mapping and data collection through questionnaires.
During the event, the visiting ISA team along with JE Dhansiripar block, PHED, Er Hotolu Sumi; District Coordinator, DWSM, PHED, Imojungla Longkumer and Seyie discussed management guidelines of JJM, which was followed by interactive sessions.
As per the release, the issues of discussion included roles and responsibilities of WATSAN, record maintenance, 5% community contribution on capital cost in cash/kind or labour, water quality testing by Field Testing Kit(FTK)users in the village, fund convergence for water and sanitation, importance of rainwater harvesting and so on.
The participants comprised of Village Council Chairman and members, Head GB, GB,WATSAN, SHGs, Youth leaders and other key persons of the village.
