A waiting shed at Herbert Spencer School, Northern Angami Colony, Walford, constructed under the aegis of 5th Assam Rifles, was inaugurated on Saturday by commandant, 5 AR, Col Raza Israil.
The 5 AR colonel in his address said the waiting shed was constructed and gifted to the school under 'Operation Bhavna.' Israil said under 'Operation Bhavna', the army and security forces extend medical facilities, education and other infrastructural developments to the needy civilian population. He said besides these social services, the one priority of the security forces is to maintain peace and stability in Dimapur. Israil further assured to help the civilian population in future too.
Proprietor, Herbert Spencer School, Kevise Sogotsu, in his remark, conveyed gratitude to the 5 AR on behalf of the school management, teachers and students. Kevise said the much needed waiting shed would serve as a multi-purpose hall for various events and functions as well as a place of fellowship.
Earlier, headmaster of Herbert Spencer School, K Tasiwang, invoked God's blessings.
