Kohima, May 24 (MExN): In a joint operation, security forces recovered arms and ammunitions in Manipur on Friday. “The Indian Army received specific information about the presence of arms and ammunition in general area Bongbal Khullen, in Imphal East district of Manipur. A joint operation was launched by Army along with Assam Rifles on May 24,” stated an update received here. The operation terminated with recovery of one AK-56 rifle, one Mortar, one Improvised Mortar Bomb, one Pompi Gun, two Improvised explosive devices, five hand grenades, ammunition and other war-like stores. The captured articles have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal, it stated.
