A two-day long Art Festival 2022 as part of celebration of World Art Day concluded here today under the aegis of Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) Nagaland in collaboration with visual artists of Nagaland.
Held at Old NST area, the festival featured painting demonstration by 10 visual artists, art competition for kids, interactions between amateur and professional artists, exhibition and sales of artworks.
In art competition for kids, Tsentsüthung of Class X from Mezhür Higher Secondary School, Kohima bagged the first position.
Kegwayhun Khing of Class 2 from Grace Higher Secondary School Kohima and Katimenla of Class 6 from Bethel Higher Secondary School Kohima stood 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
TaFMA, Advisor, Theja Meru handed over cash prizes and certificates to the winners including other participants at the closing ceremony. Meru assured that TaFMA will continue to support the young artists and push them forward.
Complimenting the role of artists in Nagaland, he told them to be proud to tell the people wherever they go as “you are an artist.” He also asked them to be always proud of their works and continue to do great work of art and bring joy and happiness to this world.
Assuring to open more platforms for artists of Nagaland, he invited them to share their ideas with TaFMA and continue to keep each other engage and come up with more concepts to promote art in Nagaland.
Among Venuh spoke on behalf of the artists and thanked TaFMA for opening a platform to them to carry forward their profession in a holistic manner.
Later, TaFMA Project Director Dr Hovithal Sothu thanked each and every individual for making the festival a grand success.
