The Artists’ Corner at the ongoing Hornbill Festival has been attracting a large number of visitors since December 1.
Brought by art branch of the department of art and culture, the Artists’ Corner at Kisama house 56 painting works of 13 local artists at 2nd World War Museum premises Kisama from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily.
The Artists Corner feature the works of Menuolhoutuo Miachieo (Landscape), Metsungnakba Longchar (Tree), Temsurenla (Naga Warrior manfold/The weaving skill of Naga woman), Tali Yanger (Naga Art), Vineizotuo Tase (Untitled), Lanu Pongen (Affairs of Mankind), Neivotuo Keyho (Festive Mood), Among Venuh (Landscape), Keneilhoulie Sorhie (Landscape), Lipomanen ( Brewing), Atu Locii (Dansel), Temjen Aier (Symphony) and Akup Phom (Lullaby).
The worth of painting works range from Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 1.50 lakh.
Artists Corner was introduced by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in 2010 with a vision to facilitate and promote livelihood, sustainable art products in the state.
The Artists Corner being held at Kisama and Dimapur aim to facilitate constructive dialogue between the artists and the public and to understand the potentials of visual arts for gestation of positive thoughts and ideas.
Activities such as display of art works, demonstration, exhibitions, sale of paintings, sculptures, photos, Naga traditional art, live sketching etc. are some of the central attractions of the Artists’ Corner
